Seafood
The Shrimp Shack Etc. is your source for the highest quality seafood in the Topsail area. We are proud to be a family owned and family run business. We keep all of our seafood under constant refrigeration (no coolers here). We are also a licensed and inspected shellfish facility which includes a shellfish sanitation inspection to help you feel 100% comfortable that you are buying clean, properly handled shellfish. We buy direct from local fisherman in the Sneads Ferry area when possible in order to offer you the freshest seafood we can. In addition to buying from Sneads Ferry fisherman, we also use fisherman in the Pamlico Sound area and Oregon Inlet area to ensure you have the most consistent highest quality seafood available.
Fish:
We try to carry the following fresh fish daily: When in season you will often find the following:
TUNA SWORDFISH REDDRUM
SALMON (CANADIAN) MAKO SNAPPER
FLOUNDER MAHI TRIGGERFISH
GROUPER (Except winter) COBIA WAHOO
Many of our seasonal fish are kept frozen out of season so you can continue to enjoy them even during the winter.
We prefer to clean and filet our fish so you get the best value (not paying for the parts you can't eat). We do however on occasion offer whole fish on display, and we often take advance orders for whole fish for those of you that want to do a grill fish or stuffed fish.
Shellfish:
We try to keep the following local shellfish year around: When in season:

TOPNECK CLAMS BOTH ROCK AND SHALLOW

Crustaceans:
We keep local ocean shrimp year around. (We are the Shrimp Shack !!! )
Our shrimp are always clean and headless. (we do offer heads-on during season).
Please remember that you always loose at least 35% of your weight if you buy heads on shrimp!! So that deal on the side of the road is not always what it seems.
True example: 5lb of heads-on = 3lbs of heads-off (So if you paid $6 a pound for the 5lb of heads-on when you get done you will have $10 a pound in the part you can eat.) We prefer to sell you shrimp that is ready to cook and you don't pay for the part you don't eat.
When in season we offer:
JUMBO JIMMY BLUE CRABS
SOFT SHELL BLUE CRABS
In addition to all the great, fresh seafood we offer, we also stock a large supply of frozen seafood (some that we pack and some we bring in already packed).
We will also flash freeze orders for you to take back home.
We will be glad to pack your seafood in your cooler to help keep it fresh.
